With the launch of Android Lollipop, Google has now made it simple to separate users on the same device. For instance if you have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which is utilized by your whole household, you can now have a separate home screen, pin, e mail account, calendar and playstore accounts setup on each profile, similar to how you have different users on a desktop PC. This is handy for personalising the device for different users.
Enable or Switch to Guest Mode
- Pull down the notification bar with two fingers. Then select the user icon on the top right hand corner of the display.
- Select Guest from the user choice screen and the device will immediately change to guest user mode.
As soon as the guest is finished his or her work, switch back to the main user as follows:
- Once again expand the notification bar by dragging it down with two fingers, after which tap the user icon in the top right hand corner of the display.
- Select the username or account you want to swap to and you will be instantly logged into the selected user account.
Limiting Guest User from Making Calls
Do the following to restrict the guest users’ access to your phone function
- Utilizing the drop down notification bar (pull down with two fingers), tap the user icon in the top right hand corner of the display.
- Tap on “More Settings” button on the bottom of the display screen after which tap on “Settings” next to the Guest icon.
- Slide the toggle switch to off position to disallow phone calls on the guest user account.
Be aware: When this function is enabled and the guest user tries making a telephone call, he/she will see the following message: “This user is not allowed to make non-emergency phone calls.”
How to Remove Guest User
- Pull down the notification bar once more, after which tap the user icon in the top right hand corner of the display.
- Select “Remove guest” and confirm the action by clicking on “Remove” from the pop-up window.
Be aware: This action completely removes the guest user account together with the user data together with downloaded files and photos captured while in guest mode.
How to Add a New User Account
Complete the following steps to add a new user to the device
- Open up the settings menu
- Select “Users”
- Tap “Add user or profile”
- Add the new user details and update their google account if required

How to Remove a User Account

- Confirm you want to remove the user (this will delete all of their personal settings and media captured under that profile)
